Excitement is in the air at the Cheder as we embark on the long-awaited project of upgrading our well-used and tired playground.
Every day, the students of the Preschool and Elementary School go out during recess to get their exercise. For 30 years, they have jumped and climbed on the current play-system and the results have shown! It’s overdue for an upgrade and now is the time.
Thanks to the heartwarming generosity of our matchers, every dollar you give in the next 36 hours will be doubled!
With your help we will be able to reach our goal. Please give generously and share this opportunity with others!
Thank you for believing in the mission of the Cheder and enabling us to the take this important step to improve our facility for the benefit of our kinderlach.
We believe each child is born with a unique set of gifts and talents, which, if properly nourished, will lead to a deeply rewarding, productive life. With this in mind, the Cheder will create a nurturing, child-centered, value-oriented environment dedicated to academic excellence. A uniquely integrated curriculum of General and Jewish studies, combined with hands-on experiences, will guide each student toward the fulfillment of his or her individual potential.
The cornerstone of a Cheder education, the basis of our philosophy is Educating Love.
The strong emotional bond that the children develop with Judaism while still in their formative years creates the enduring connection that empowers them to weather life’s challenges. It is the Love of Hashem, Love of the Torah and [primarily, and as a gateway to the others] Love of our People that is tenderly nurtured within them from the youngest age.
This, perhaps above all else, inspires their future choices and lifestyle. This is the living example - set by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory - that the students experience daily at the Lubavitch Cheder.
The project includes the replacement of both play systems (Elementary and Preschool).
We are also planning to enhance the green areas and gardens considerably. The students love to plant and watch the growing plants and then enjoy the fruits of their work.
Also included in the plans are the smaller things that make the playground complete. Including: A new basketball hoop, additional tetherball pole, benches and more.*
With Hashem’s help, we hope to install the new play systems in the spring.
*Note: Playground proposals include the possibility of being relocated to new facility, should that be necessary in the future.
